• Consent Docket Approved: The City Council approved the consent docket items A through D.
• Mahogany Hills Estates Variance & Plat:
  • A variance to the 65-foot right-of-way requirement for Mahogany Hills Estates, revised preliminary plat, was approved. This decision was made to avoid a noticeable "jog" in the neighborhood's brick fence, with conditions requiring future right-of-way acquisition on the east side of Broadway and no encroachments.
  • The revised preliminary plat for Mahogany Hills Estates was also approved.
• Creekside Preliminary Plat Approved: The preliminary plat for Creekside, proposing detached family homes, was approved. A key condition is that a private bridge providing access must be inspected and meet safety and drainage standards, or a new bridge constructed.
• Rezoning for Oakdale Holdings, LLC: Rezoning application #1052 for Oakdale Holdings, LLC, changing a two-acre tract from A2 suburban agriculture to I1 PUD light industrial, was approved. The PUD allows for expanded industrial uses (including outdoor storage) with aesthetic amenities like increased landscaping, screened dumpsters, and 70% rock/brick/stone exteriors. A council member's request for a sidewalk requirement was discussed but ultimately not included due to the industrial nature and low anticipated foot traffic in the area.
• Land Development Code Update Contract: A contract with White and Smith, LLC (doing business as WSC Half and Associates) for $219,519 was approved to update the city's zoning and subdivision regulations. This project will modernize codes, review best practices, and include public participation.
• Street Name Change: Resolution #11625 was approved to change a segment of Southwest 42nd Street to Manhattan Drive. This change addresses issues with online mapping services misdirecting residents to a different neighborhood.

Financial Matters 💰

• Firefighting Bunker Gear: Authorization was approved for the budget purchase of six sets of Morning Pride structural firefighting bunker gear for new recruits, totaling $23,814.
• Zero-Turn Mowers: The budget purchase of two Pro Z Cub Cadet mowers for the Street and Drainage Division, totaling $46,347.54, was approved. These mowers will be used for drainage channel easements and roadway right-of-ways.
• Compact Track Loader Skid Steer: Authorization was approved for the budget purchase of a John Deere 325 compact track loader skid steer, costing $77,023.44, to replace an aging unit. The old skid steer will be placed in surplus.
