• 📅 Fire Prevention Week: October 4th - 10th, 2015, was officially proclaimed Fire Prevention Week. The Shawnee Fire Department's acclaimed clown program will perform 15 shows at 14 schools this week, educating children on vital fire safety measures.

Key Decisions & Votes

The company plans to construct a 10,000 sq ft hangar for its aircraft fleet, relocating to Shawnee for a more central location and to leverage local talent, including Gordon Cooper graduates. The airport will take ownership of the hangar after the lease term.
• South WWTP Emergency Generator Project: The awarding of the bid for the South Wastewater Treatment Plant emergency generator project was deferred to the next commission meeting on October 19th for further review.

Financial Matters

• 💰 Main Street Streetscape Project Funding: The $3,156,371.60 Main Street Streetscape project is financed through a combination of funds: approximately $600,000 from the Tiff district, $410,000 from an ODOT grant, $448,000 from the Municipal Authority (for utility line replacements), and nearly $1.8 million from the 302 Street fund.
