Airport Authority Meeting

Shawnee Municipal Authority Meeting
- Consent Agenda: The Municipal Authority's consent agenda was ✅ approved.
- Utility Master Plan Final Draft Presentation: Smith Roberts Baldusweiler presented an update on the Water Distribution Capital Improvement Program (CIP) final draft. The presentation outlined criteria used to evaluate the water system (storage, pipe velocity, fire flow, water quality), identified proposed changes for existing and future (2030) models, and detailed project priorities and cost estimates. No action was taken as this was a presentation.
City Commission Meeting
- Consent Agenda: The City Commission's consent agenda was ✅ approved.
- Rezone Property Northwest of Churchill Street: An ordinance to re-zone property located northwest of the terminus of Churchill Street, Woodsong Edition, from A1 Rural Agriculture and Planned Unit Development (PUD) to R1 Single Family Residential was ✅ approved. Staff recommended approval, noting the existing PUD was already very similar to R1.
- Preliminary Plat for Stone Creek Crossing: The preliminary plat for Stone Creek Crossing, a two-phase, 101-lot development on 80 acres at the north corner of Macarthur and Acme Road, was ✅ approved with conditions. Phase one includes 50 lots, each at least half an acre. Deviations approved include private roads built to city standards with gates, cul-de-sac lengths up to 1,000 feet, and up to 16 lots served by aerobic sewer systems (conforming to new state code for half-acre lots).
- Final Plat for Shawnee Marketplace PUD: Consideration of the final plat for Shawnee Marketplace PUD (I-40 and Kickapoo Street) was ➡️ deferred by the Planning Commission to a special call meeting on 📅 July 16th, with the goal of being on the 📅 July 21st City Commission agenda.
- Alley Closure Ordinance: An ordinance to temporarily close a portion of the alley between 10th and 11th Street and North Pottawatomie and North Florence Avenues, requested by Cross Connection Church, was ✅ approved. The church cited concerns about loitering, drug traffic, and criminal activity. The closure is temporary, with all associated costs borne by the applicant, and can be reversed.
- Tax Credits for Ashford Place Apartments: A resolution in support of tax credits for CSY Investors LLC for the rehabilitation of the Ashford Place Apartments was ✅ approved. The project aims to significantly improve the existing low-income housing complex, with rehabilitation expected to begin in late 2014 or early 2015.
- Surplus Vehicle: A resolution to surplus a vehicle for recycling was ✅ approved.
