SMA Master Plan Update

• Smith Roberts in Baltimore provided an update on the Shawnee Municipal Authority (SMA) master plan for water and sewer systems.
• The treatment portion draft (water and wastewater plants) has been submitted and is currently under review by city staff for comments, with finalization expected in the coming weeks.
• The water distribution and storm sewer collection portion is ongoing. City staff continues to gather additional data (e.g., sanitary sewer TV surveys, manhole locations, water tower levels) to enhance the accuracy of the models. Smith Roberts has agreed to incorporate this data for approximately 60 more days at no additional charge.
• A drought management plan will be included in the treatment portion, with ongoing surveys to verify USGS lake elevations.
