- Shawnee Rescue Mission Memorial Day Weekend Bash: The Shawnee Rescue Mission will host a community event at Woodland Park on 📅 Memorial Day Weekend, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The event will feature free hot dogs and hamburgers, prize giveaways (including two new bicycles), an inflatable slide for kids, and a live band.
- Polycart Survey Reminder: Citizens in the polycart pilot area are reminded to complete and return the polycart surveys that were mailed out. The company has already picked up the old polycarts. The polycart program will be an agenda item for discussion on 📅 June 4th.
- Shawnee High School Graduation: Graduation is scheduled for 📅 tomorrow night (May 22, 2007) at 7:00 PM, broadcast on Channel 30. Project Graduation will follow until 3:00 AM.
- Oklahoma Aerospace Summit: A contingency from Shawnee, including members of the Economic Development Foundation and Airport Authority, will attend the Oklahoma Aerospace Summit at the Cox Business Center for 📅 the next two days (May 22-23, 2007) to attract aerospace businesses to Shawnee.
- Sovereignty Symposium: The Sovereignty Symposium is scheduled for 📅 May 30th-31st, 2007.
- Community Night in Durant: A Community Night event will be held in Durant on 📅 June 6th, 2007 (Wednesday). Shawnee Economic Development Foundation and Chamber members are invited to represent Shawnee to approximately 30 site locators at Carotas Cantina.
- Future Discussion on Easements and Storm Sewers: Staff was requested to prepare a report clarifying the definition of easements, maintenance responsibilities, and the distinction between public storm sewers and drainage easements, especially in light of recent heavy rains.
- Recognition of Local Athletes: A request was made to compile a list of local athletes who have achieved State titles in various sports, including baseball (Bethel and Dale), archery, track, and tennis, for future recognition.
